We will be happy to file insurance on behalf of our patients. Carolina Breast Imaging Specialists is a participating provider with the following insurance companies:
- Assurant Health
- Atlantic Integrated/Beacon
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Medicare (including Blue Medicare, United Healthcare, Humana)
- United Healthcare (except Compass)
- And many others. If your insurance company is not listed please call to see if we participate with your carrier.
At CBIS, we make every effort to keep our services affordable. As specialists who utilize the latest technology (example: 3D mammography) we are able to achieve the maximum effectiveness in cancer detection and diagnosis with the lowest costs. Our “false positive” rates are among the lowest in the nation meaning we require fewer extra images which saves anxiety, radiation and money for our patients. We also perform fewer “unnecessary” biopsies on our patients.
For patients who are uninsured or underinsured we have implemented significant discounts:
- Screening 3D mammogram is $250 if paid in full at the time of service
($300 if paid over 6 months). That is more than 50% off of our full price.
- All other services are discounted 50% if paid in full at the time of service and 40% if paid over 6 months.
There are also resources available in the community to help eligible uninsured patients pay for their care. It is best to explore your options before getting anything done. Once you have had a service they may not accept you into the program.
The most helpful resource is your local county health department.
After reviewing the resources below, if you still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance and guidance.
